Completing both certifications together helps reduce overall training time and cost compared to taking each course separately.

Standard First Aid & CPR-C, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross Combo

This extended combo includes Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and Standard First Aid & CPR-C in one efficient certification pathway. In addition to advanced lifesaving and water rescue training, students complete emergency first aid and CPR-C skills commonly required for lifeguard and aquatic employment. Combining all certifications into one program saves time, reduces total cost, and meets key prerequisites for future National Lifeguard and instructor courses.

Course Description

The Bronze Star program is the first step in the lifesaving and leadership certification pathway. Participants build strong decision-making and problem-solving skills while learning how to recognize and respond to emergency situations in and around the water. The course includes CPR training, stroke improvement, and essential lifesaving skills that promote personal responsibility and water safety. A 400-metre fitness swim is part of the program.

Course Description

Bronze Medallion establishes the foundation of lifesaving knowledge by teaching candidates how to identify hazards, assess risk, make sound judgments, and perform safe water rescues. The course introduces survival techniques, rescue methods, and critical decision-making skills that prepare participants for more advanced lifeguard and leadership training. Candidates continuing in the certification pathway are encouraged to complete Emergency First Aid & CPR-B alongside this level.

Course Description

Bronze Cross builds on prior lifesaving training and prepares candidates for safe supervision in pools and aquatic environments. This certification focuses on advanced rescue skills, emergency response, and decision-making required for professional aquatic supervision. Bronze Cross is an essential prerequisite for National Lifeguard and Instructor certification courses. Many candidates choose to complete Standard First Aid & CPR-C concurrently to meet future requirements.

Course Description

The Bronze Cross Recertification course is designed for candidates who need to renew their certification for employment or ongoing training. The evaluation includes fitness requirements, a review of core lifesaving skills, and practical rescue assessments to ensure current standards are met. A current Bronze Cross certification is not required to register for the National Lifeguard course.
